A Systematic Review on Search Engine Advertising

    Get PDF
The innovation of Search Engine Advertising (SEA) was first introduced in 1998. It soon became a very popular tool among practitioners for promoting their websites on the Web and turned into a billion dollar revenue source for search engines. In parallel with its rapid growth in use, SEA attracted the attention of academic researchers resulting in a large number of publications on the topic of SEA. However, no comprehensive review of this accumulated body of knowledge is currently available. This shortcoming has motivated us to conduct a systematic review of SEA literature. Herewith, we searched for and collected 101 papers on the topic of SEA, published in 72 journals from different disciplines and analyzed them to answer the research questions for this study. We have identified the historical development of SEA literature, predominant journals in the publication of SEA research, active reference disciplines as well as the main researchers in the field of SEA. Moreover, we have classified SEA literature into four categories and 10 research topics. We also uncovered a number of gaps in SEA literature and provided future research direction accordingly. Seniors’ Perspective on Perceived Transfer Effects of Assistive Robots in Elderly Care: Capability Approach Analysis

    Get PDF
There have been widespread critiques towards the lack of contextual approaches in the adoption theories. This paper argues that independent living plays a significant role in adoption of assistive technologies such as robots among seniors. Therefore, the present article introduces perceived transfer effects as a cognitive process in which elderly realize how assistive robots help them in their functional abilities to empower their capabilities required to live independently. The study conducts qualitative interviews to understand the constructs contributing to the perceived transfer effects of assistive robots from seniors’ perspective. The paper demonstrates the potentials of the capability approach in the context of assistive robots for elderly. The paper opens avenues of research in adoption of similar types of assistive technologies among elderly. The article also informs nursing and aged care professionals about the better adoption of robots as an alternative intervention to improve the everyday life of seniors

The purpose of this paper is to systematically analyze the knowledge management research within small and medium-sized companies. The study includes a systematic review of 30 peer reviewed papers on knowledge management advantages for SMEs. Balanced scorecard perspectives cover all aspects of the organization, and, consequently, the balanced scorecard approach has been applied to classify the KM benefits. The reviewed scientific studies highlight the benefits of knowledge management in the areas of economic and social perspective (increased profits, flexibility, product reputation, financial performance), commercial and customers perspective (market share, sales growth, customer satisfaction, good external relationship), internal business processes perspective (operational performance, increased productivity, product/service quality, process improvement) and organizational learning and growth perspective (employee development, innovation, organizational creativity, learning). For future studies, determining stakeholder views is recommended in order to gain sustainable competitive advantage

A GENERIC FRAMEWORK FOR DEVELOPING STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEM PLANS: INSIGHTS FROM PAST THREE DECADES

Strategic Information System Planning (SISP) has been a major concern for business and information systems (IS) managers since the 1980s. Past research has proposed several methodologies, processes and models which facilitate development of SISP in organisations. This paper employs a systematic literature review approach and studies 84 papers (which remained after search in nine scientific databases and reviewing more than 2700 papers) in the field to compare the processes proposed in different methodologies. We then synthesized steps in these processes and in several rounds of integration and division, formed a general seven phase framework which covers all activities in the literature. The main elements of the proposed framework are: Initiation, Business Analysis, IT/IS Analysis, Strategy Formulation, Portfolio Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. The paper concludes with recommendations for both practitioners and researchers
